tongue up... (Sorry wrong story) I snuck outtta work a little early today to go to the salvage yard. I needed to pick-up a part for the beater. I pull up in my Z and see this middle-eastern guy pulling out in a 90-91 blue NA. All of a sudden, the damn thing is on fire from under the hood!!! Well, my first thought is GET OUT AND HELP THE POOR BASTARD. Then I see him and his father get out frantically because they are trying to hank his kid out of the back before he get burned to death. ( The car was engulfe in flames in a matter of seconds. Evidently the fire was going good before it exited the hood) Anyway, my next thought is bet it is the fuel injector o-rings are bad and the car has been that way for awhile. Well guess what? After the commotion, I asked the guy if he had ever smelled a "gasoline smell" before this happened and, YUP, he did. He said he had been smelling fuel for a couple of weeks now. At this point, I don't know weather to feel sorry for the guy or tell him he's a dummy for not doing anything about it! I feel for anyone that loses a Z32 or any nice car but, ignoring a fuel smell is kinda dumb dontcha think? All I know is, I am so glad my friday night did not start-off with seeing a child die. Moral of the story for all; Nissans are notorious for leaky fuel injector o-rings after time. So, if you smell gas don,t light a match. Wait, I ya smell gas find out why. Yeah! that sounds better. Be safe, But be fast! Paul.
